FAQ
Common questions
Everything you need to know before you pack.
These are the things that stay true from LAN to LAN. For dates, tickets, venue details, and the current schedule, check the specific event page.
What is MegaFPS?
MegaFPS is a friendly, community-run bring-your-own-computer LAN party for Edmonton-area PC gamers. We have been getting people together to game, hang out, and share good times since 2002.
How often and how long are the events?
We host three LAN weekends each year. Events normally begin Friday at 2:30 PM and wrap up Sunday at 1 PM; each event page confirms its dates and details.
What should I bring?
Bring your own computer, display, and gaming peripherals. MegaFPS provides your space, power, and a gigabit local network. Check the current event page for any extra packing guidance.
What games do people play?
The games follow the community: shooters, strategy, co-op, indies, LAN classics, and whatever people are excited to play. Suggestions and server requests are welcome; the current lineup is announced for each event.
Do I need to know anyone or join group games?
No. Newcomers are welcome, and any shared group games are optional. Come with friends, meet people there, or settle in with your own crew.
Can I bring friends?
Absolutely. MegaFPS is a community event, and bringing friends is encouraged. You will also find a mix of returning LAN regulars and people trying their first event.
Is MegaFPS a tournament event?
No. MegaFPS is a relaxed, social LAN rather than a formal tournament event. Casual activities and attendee-run giveaways may happen when they sound fun, but there are no brackets or pressure to participate.
Can I stay overnight?
Overnight stays are normally part of a MegaFPS weekend, so you can keep the gaming going. The event page will confirm venue-specific sleeping arrangements, what to bring, and Sunday wrap-up details.
What about food, drinks, and venue amenities?
Food plans, snacks, drinks, kitchen access, and other venue amenities are confirmed for each LAN. Check the event page before you pack or make meal plans.
Where will I find tickets, schedules, and updates?
Right here on MegaFPS. Going forward, each event page will be the source for party details, schedules, registration, tickets, and updates.
Details that change by event
Venue, ticket availability, capacity, game and server lists, food, overnight arrangements, accessibility, and the event schedule are confirmed for each LAN. Check that event's page before you make plans.
